När en åldring på ett äldreboende i Västernorrland drabbades av hjärtstopp ringde personalen till SOS Alarm, men gjorde i övrigt ingenting.

I avvikelserapportern som Ambulanssjukvården vid Region Västernorrland skrivit står det att personalen inte ville påbörja hjärt-lungräddning sjäv.  När ambulansen anlände 20 minuter senare var patienten död.

Orsaken till att patienten dog var just att behandlingen dröjde. ”Katastrofalt” skriver man i rapporten om allvarlighetsgraden.

Det framgår av rapporten att äldreboendet inte svarat på ambulanssjukvårdens frågor om orsak till varför man inte gjorde några räddningsinsatser.
