Det var i juli 2017 som en kvinna med nötallergi av misstag fick i sig nötter. Hon fick andningssvårigheter och larmade snabbt ambulans.

Enligt ambulansjournalen hyperventilerade kvinnan och hade en förhöjd puls. Men ambulanspersonalen bedömde att det inte berodde på en allergichock utan trodde snarare att kvinnan hade en panikattack. Kvinnan fick därför ingen behandling med adrenalin trots att hon bad om det. Ambulansen körde dessutom kvinnan till sjukhus som prio tre (utan blåljus och sirener).

När de väl kom fram till sjukhusen blev kvinnan medvetslös och hade nässelutslag över hela kroppen. Läkaren på plats bedömde symptomen som en allergisk reaktion men menar också att kvinnan förmodligen tappat medvetande på grund av sin hyperventilation. Efter behandling på sjukhuset återhämtade sig kvinnan och kunde lämna sjukhuset samma natt. Kvinnan anmälde sedan händelsen tillInspektionen för vård och omsorg (IVO) som nu har granskat ärendet.
